THIEVES' DOUBLE RAID.

LOSSES OF BUSINESS MAN. HOUSE AND OFFICE ENTERED. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] CHBTSTCHOBCH, Monday. A double raid was made yesterday by thieves on Mr. J. L. Bennett, of Bennett Bros., cycle dealers, 77, Cashel Street, both his home and his business premises being entered. He lost altogether about £9, the thief or thieves not touching jewellery or cycle accessories. First Mr. Bennett's residence at 91, Edward Avenue, St. Albans, was entered in the afternoon by the back door, which was forced with an axe. Mr. Bennett and his family were out for the day. The Jjouse was ransacked. The children's money boxes were emptied and one, a Post Office Saving} Bank box, was taken away by the thief. Daring the search the thieves evidently came across Mr. Bennett's keys and his business address, and at night they visited the business premises. They entered by unlocking the front door. They opened the sale, and, not touching securities and other documents, took what money there was. The thieves locked the front door after them and evidently went out by the rear entrance, throwing the keys away in the right-of-way there, where they were found this morning.
