RAGLAN FLOWER SHOW.
RECORO NUMBER OF ENTRIES. The 14th annual show of the Raglan Horticultural Society was held on Saturday. There were record entries. On account of the recent destruction of the Town Hall by fire the show was held in Mr. N. D. Robertson's garage and the Parish Hall. The roses were hardly as good as usual, but the sweet peas were declared by the judge to be really excellent. The champion rose bloom was grown by Mrs. R. Gilinour, and was a The show was opened by Mr. Lee Maritn, M.P., who came from Wellington for the purpose, ancl was his first official action in the electorate as its member. The principal prize-winners were: — Flower sections: Mesdames J. M. Thompson, C. Gilmour, R. Gilmour, V. E. Pegler, C. W. Ralfe and W. Ranstead. Vegetable classes: Messrs. S. Foss, RCowley, W. Ranstead and J. Carr. The section for school children was a good one and attracted entries from all parts of the district. Te Mata children were particularly successful.
