BLASTING FATALITY.
TWO MEN KILLED. A PREMATURE EXPLOSION. RAILWAY WORKS ACCIDENT. [by telegraph.— press association.] DUNEDIN, Monday A blasting accident, which resulted m the deaths of two men, Andrew Kydd and William llopwood, occurred at the railway duplication works, near Kaverisliourno, at 4.20 p.m. to-day. The accident was due to a premature explosion. Kydd, who was a married man, aged about 59 years, with a grown-up family, resided at Sawyer's Bay and was employed by the Railway Department as a casual quarrynian. Ho was killed outright. Hop wood, who received serious injuries to tho head and face, was taken to the hospital, where ho died at 7.30 p.m. He was a ganger, employed by the Railway Department, and was about 46 years of age. His wife lives at Riverton.
