PACIFIC CABLE BOARD.
I ALLOCATION! OF PROFITS. F ATTITUDE OF CANADA. A. and N.Z, CANBERRA, Nov. 2G In Federal circles it is anticipated that a serious dispute will develop between Australia and Canada over the future of the Pacific Cable Board. It is learned that the hesitation before the duplication of the cable was decided on was due, not to any feeling on the part of Canacla that the beam wireless system was likely to adversely affect the revenue from the cable, but because the Canadian Government required guarantees about the disposal of the large profits from the cable eystem at the time of the duplication It was believed that the revenue from the cables would be maintained. Canada had demanded an undertaking that the profits to be earned after the duplication of/ the service would | opt be trans ferred to the maintenance account, but would be devoted to repaying to the in terested parties the amounts they had advanced toward the creation of the system. It is said that Canada disregarded the communication from Australia and Kew Zealand.
