AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE MARKET OPENS ACTIVELY. The market opened actively on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and in local body and Government loans an unusual amount of business was recorded. City of Auckland, 1940, 5J per cent, debentures, sold at £96 10s, the price given at the beginning of the month. Auckland Hospital Board, SJ, per cent., which were last dealt iri last March at £99, sold at £9B 10s. Government, 1930, per cent, stock, changed hands at £9B 15s. In banking Commercial of Australia were offered do\vn to £1 9s 2d, buyers £1 9s. Business was done in contributing National Bank of Australasias at £8 13s 9d. When last dealt in last March the price was £9 10:s. Holders of New Zealands came down to 59s 6d, but buyers remained at 59s 3d. Iri insurance New Zealands were done at 39s 6a, as against 39s last week In shipping Northern Steamships sold Jit 14s 6d, and buyers continued to offer that price, sellers 15s. In miscellaneous British Tobacco were available at 55s without result. Colonial Sugars were inquired for at £53 15s. Hayward's Pictures were again disposed of at last week's rate of 17s 6d, and more were wanted at that figure. The first sale in Sharland's ordinary to be recorded this year was made at 20s. In mining Saturday's price of Is 5d for Lucky Shot, 2s paid, was maintained. Ohinemuris brought 6s 4d, as compared with 6s 5d last week. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Monday. An average of lligns was realised at the dispersal sale of Messrs. R. and J. Matlieson's Freshfield Aberdeen Angus stuij, at Taupiri, on Friday. The sale was conducted by Abraham and Williams, Ltd,, and Wright. Stephenson and Company, Ltd, There was a satisfactory attendance of buyers, and a complete dispersal ot the stock offered wan effected. The amount realised was £lOl9. The majority of the buyers came from the King Country where the Angus breed is in favour. Bulls sold at from, lljgns to 32Jgns, the latter price being paid by Mr. Allan. Ohinewai. for Earl of Edendale. Cows and heifers realised from lfigna to SC.gns, the best price being paid by Mt. F.-n. Hardy for Topny of Fresh*eld.
