TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mi*. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Fair to cloudy weather is indicated, with cloudiness increasing again shortly, and rain. following over most of the Dominion. Northerly to north-easterly winds, freshening, and increasing strong to gale, northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and strong westerly to northwesterlies ruling southward of those places. Seas rough. Two distinct disturbances are operating in the Tasman Sea, the Antarctic stonn area being still located south-westward of the' Bluff, South Island, while a new depression of combined tropical and Antarctic influences has developed north-westward of the Dominion, moving south-eastward. Undor these conditions a temporary improvement is expected in northern areas, followed by a renewal of unsettled weather, with an additional rainfall. Barometric pressure will increase temporarily, decreasing again after about 18 hours. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.00 in. Midnight, Sunday ... .. 30.00 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT.
