DAMAGE BY FIRE.

MOUNT ROSKILL OUTBREAK.

An outbreak of fire occurred in a washhouse attached to a six-roomed house owned and occupied by Mrs. Doidgo at the corner of Buddock and Hillsborough Roads, Mount Roskill, about five o'clock yesterday afternoon. Considerable damage was done to the interior of the wash-house, and some clothes were destroyed, but the efforts of the Mount Roskill brigade prevented the flames from spreading. The building is insured for £9OO in the State Fire Office, but the contents are not covered by a policy.. Rubbish left burning unattended was tho cause of the fire.
