DAIRYING AND ARBITRATION.
Sir,—lt seems to me "Looker On" j s hardly fair to the farming community in his remarks re the exclusion of dairy fac- ||§ tory workers from the Arbitration Act. p Aiter seven years' experience in dairy ||| factories in various parts of the Auck- • land Province, I'have come to the con-- > elusion that on the whole the farmers dft 4-i not begrudge their factory workers thti: minimum wage and limited hours imposed Jff by the Arbitration Court; on the con- ; trary, I can quote several instances ir,- '' eluding my own, in which considerably higher wages are paid than those fixed -H by the Court as the minimum. II " Looker On " cares to go into the matter, he will find that the agitation for exclusion emanates froni a few of the so-called farmers' representatives in the Wairarapa,, where wages and hours have f'i recently be(n brought into line with those ruling in the other districts where th« Afbitration Award is in operation.
