"SNEAK THIEF" SENTENCED. ALLEGED WAREHOUSE ROBBERY. Sentence of three months' imprisonment on a charge of being idle and disorderly was passed on John Kerr, aged 53, labourer, who pleaded guilty in the Police Court yesterday. "He is a sneak thief, Imd stolen tools have been traced to his possession," said Chief-Detective Curnmings. On a charge of having broken and entered the warehouse of John Burns, Limited, Customs Street, and stolen 15 ingots ol tin valued at £3O 15s, Frank Leonard O'Donnell, aged 31, motordriver, was remanded to appear on Monday. Isail was refused. Samuel Howard, aged 60, fish curer, and John Joseph James Kyle, aged 39, labourer, charged with receiving the articles' knowing them to be dishonestly obtained, were also remanded until Monday. Bail was allowed each accused. "Further inquiries are to be made into this matter," said Chief-Detective Curnmings, in asking for a remand until Monday in the case of Kenneth Edward James McQuoid, a young man, who was charged with having stolen a woman's gold watch, valued at £2 ss, the property of John Burns, Limited, in January last. The remand was granted.
