LACK OF PAYABLE WORK.

OPPOSITION TO DISCHARGE,

A meeting of creditors- in the bankrupt estate of Walter Owen Trigg, plumber, Mount Albert, was held yesterday, the official assignee, Mr. G. N. Morris, presiding. ' The schedule showed that £1207 was owing to secured creditors, the estimated value of the securities being £I3OO. Debts to unsecured creditors totalled £589, and the total assets were £370. Bankrupt stated he started in businfts# as a plumber at Avondale two and a-haif years ago with a capital of £6O. He attributed his failure to inability to obtain sufficient work at paying rates. Contributing causes were heavy expenses incurred in running a second-hand motortruck, losses caused through wet weather on a drainage contract at Avondale and the fact that he had to pay wages for four months to an injured employee who was not insured. He was aged 27 and was married when he started on his own. Bankrupt was closely questioned by the official assignee regarding his business methods. He admitted he had no experience of book-keeping.
