PAST YEAR'S ACTIVITIES

ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS. The sixty-second annual meeting of the Auckland Sunday School Union was held last evening, the president, Mr. W. V. M. Glaister, presiding over an attendance of 50 members and delegates. In moving the adoption of the annual report Mr. Glaister commented on the increased membership and growing scope of the work of the union. The general accounts of the union allowed that all the departments had paid their way, with the result that a profit 01 £57.3 was available to go toward the administrative expenses. lhe leport oi the trading department showed a substantial pioiit, enabling the sum of £st>o to be trail si erred to the general tunds. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: — President, the Rev. F. A. Thompson; vice-presidents, Miss Winstone, Mr. J. ivterj Mr. F. E. Drew; lion, treasurer, Air. W. A. Kendon; lion, solicitor, Mr. W. I). M. Glaister; auditors, Messis. T. E. Win I ton and F. S. Battley; executive committee, Messrs. S. E. Chappeli, J." W. Court, U. Fa 11a, T. E. Eraser, F. W. Gaze, W. fcj. LayJand, T. H. Martyn, W. if.. Newton, E. 11. Utting, Mrs. Pierce, Miss Haig, and Miss D. Earle. The retiring president, Mr. Glaister, expressed the pleasure it had given him during his two years tn office to work in harmony with the executive and officers with whom he had been associated. In urging that the field of activity be still further extended to take Bibleteaching into the homes of the children, he uttered a warning against denominational prejudices. Mr. Glaister paid a special tribute to the invaluable services rendered by the secretary, the Rev. L. B. Busfield.

A hearty vote of thanks to the retiring officers was carried.
