PRESENTATIONS.
Two of Auckland's most popular police officers, Detective-Sergeant E. O'Brien and Detective J. Robertson, were farewelled by a large gathering of the force at the central police station last evening. Superintendent Wohlmann congratulated the detectives on their promotion, and said that both had rendered many services to the public. Detective Robertson had been stationed in Auckland for 14 years and his transfer to Whangarei was an acknowledgment of his work. Detective-Sergeant O'Brien had been attached to the Auckland staff for eight years. Presentations were made to both officers. Detective Robertson will leave this morning to take up his new appointment, and DetectiveSergeant O'Brien will leave for Christchurch on Monday. Members of the Opotiki Golt Club tendered a farewell to Mr. and Mrs E. L. Siddall, who have been associated with the club for some years Mr Siddall has been secretary for the past hree years. Mr. H. G. Reeves, president of the club, presented Mr Siddall with a smoker's outfit, a presentation also being made to Mrs Siddall.
The members of the Utorolmnga Agricultural and Pastoral Association tendered a farewell to the secretary of the association. Mr. R." R. Morton, and to Messrs. B. Budden, A. J. McGovern and A. J. Ritchie, three late members of the association. They have all been active members srtnce its inception and have done much to help in the welfare of the farming community iri the district. Presentations were made by Mr. W. B. McAdam, president of the Association.
