In the Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M.. David Evans pleaded guilty to beiijg"" drunk when in charge of a motor-car'"

Addressing accused the magistrate said:—"This is the second have been convicted of being drunk: in charge of a car, and you are not gaing to drive again for a few years. -'"You are going to gaol for one mpntb with hard labour. Your present 1 jteiice will be cancelled, and you are prohibited from obtaining another one for five years."

A young man, John Cameron Rosa, a commercial traveller, cf Auckland, appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court today, for sentence on a charge of being in charge of a motor-car w*.ile in a state of intoxication. Accused cam«» before the Court on Tuesday, when he pleaded guilty. It was stated that on Labour 1 ' Day accused was seen at the wheel of i is car in Victoria Street in a hopelessly intoxicated condition.

Senior-Sergeant Sweeney submitted a favourable report on Ross' character this morning. The magistrate said that the offence was evidently an isolated case. He fined accused £5, and ordered his driver's licence to be endorsed.
