COMMON GAMING HOUSE.
BOOTMAKER HEAVILY FINED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— TRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Friday.
Richard Coxon, a bootmaker, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to using hi« premises as a common gaming house.
It was stated that on the occasion of a recent raid he was found to bo in possession of £SO, and records found in the shop showed that he had taken £43 in bets that morning. He also laid extensive doubles and had been previously before the Court.
Coxon was fined £75. Joseph Mar tin, aged 43, was fined £lO for assist ing him.
