DR. BUCK GOES TO SAMOA. [from our OWN coasFsroxnKNT. ] HONOLULU, Oct. 12. Dr. H. P. Buck, of New Zealand, known as the best posted ethnologist ia the Pacific, who is under engagement for five years to the Bishop Museuin of Honolulu for research into the history of the Polynesian races, recently left Honolulu in company with two of the directors of the Bishop Museum for Samoa. Dr. Buck will spend the remainder of this year there in a study of the Samoan people. His programme calls for research into the ethnology of Manua and neighbouring islands, and field work in British Samoa. »
