AUCKLAND ACCIDENTS.

LONG SERIES YESTERDAY.

ADMISSIONS TO HOSPITAL. BOY KNOCKED DOWN BY BUS. Through being knocked down by a motor-bus yesterday, John Spooner, aged three years, son of Mr. R. E. Spooner, of Mark Road, Takapuna, sustained broken ribs and internal injuries. The boy was playing si the corner of Hart Boad and Lake Koad shortly after noon and was struck by the bumper of the bus, from Bayswater to Millard. After receiving medical attention from Dr. G. Pearce Baldwin, he wa3 taken to the Auckland Hospital. Late last evening his condition was reported to be serious. 'lhe bus was one belonging to the North Shore Transport Company, Ltd. Injuries to tfeo back and ribs were sustained by Mr. F. Fox, married, of 3, Wainui Avenue, Point Chevalier, in a fall from a scaffolding plank yesterday afternoon. Mr. Fox was employed on a building in course of construction in Dominion Koad and was precipitated from a height of about 12ft. by the sudden breaking of a plank. After attention from Dr. J. Dreaaon, he was taken to his home by the St. Jchn ambulance. As the ambulance was returning from Foint Chevalier, an accident occurred just in fronS of it at the intersection of Pitt Street and .Karangahape Koad, m which Mr. Robert Green, aged 50, of 31, Edinburgh Street. Newton, was knocked down by a motor-ear and sustained a severe scalp wound. The St. John ambulance took tEe injured man to the Auckland Hospital, where an operation was performed. His condition was reported to be fair, t.he injury being an extensive one. Suffering from fractures of the arms, two boys were admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday.. Aubrey CaUender, aged 12, of 12, King Edward Parade, Devonport, sustained his injury as the result- of a fall from his bicycle, and the other boy was George Corbett, aged 14, of Penrose. As the result of an accident in the hold of the Maheno yesterday afternoon, Mr. Boyd, a waterside worker, of 22, East Street, Newton, sustained injuries to the fingers of the left hand. The injury was 'caused by the fall of a barrel of tar from the stack in the hold. Mr. Boyd was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John ambulance, and was able to return home after treatment in the casualty ward.
