BAN BY CITY COUNCIL. PROGRAMMES IN THEATRES. "UNSATISFACTORY CONDUCT.** No concerts will in future be permitted on Sunday evenings in city theatres. Thi3 decision was reached last evening by the City Council as the result of a recommendation by the Finance Committee. The committee stated in a brief report that it had for some time given close attention to the conduct of Sunday evening concerts in theatres, and, as it considered they were not being conducted in a satisfactory manner, it was recommended that no further permits should be issued. The recommendation was adopted without discussion.
