AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE DAY OF BRISK BUSINESS. Business was brisk on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, when the sales recorded were in excess ol the average number ol transactions. In timber iiauris had sale at 24s 5d and 24s 4d, compared with the rato ot 24s 6d which has recently ruled.

In miscellaneous Colonial bugars were available at £54 ss, a reduction of 5s on the previous day's closing rate, but buyers were hrm at £53 10s. latanaki Oils sold at 8s 6d, an advance oi nine pence on the price paid last week. Wil sons Cement again changed hands at 36s 6d. In mining Occidental Unas, contri buting, had sale at Is sd. More were sought at that figure at the noon and afternoon calls, holders Is 6d. Waihis wore done at 22s sd, the price recently current.
