POWER-BOAT ASSOCIATION.
Sir, —The report published yesterday of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Power Boat Association, if uncorrected, may disturb the cordial relations that have always existed between the Harbour Board and its officials and the association. In discussing the report Mr. Albert Spencer, who is not now, nor ever has been, a member of the association, and who, therefore, ought not to have spoken as he did, criticised the policy of the beard in connection with the provision of facilities for yachtsmen. - Five members of our executive, well qualified to express an opinion of the consideration and assistance this association has always received at the hands of the board, took strong exception to the remarks of Mr. Spencer, who alone of all those present offered criticism. Later in the evening Mr. A. R. Lees, our rear commodore, moved a special vote of thanks to the board and its officials, and in doing so enlarged upon the aid We had received for many years. Special mention was ma3e of the courteous consideration the chairman had always given our requests and also of the fact that Captain Sergeant and other officials had for years past gone to considerable trouble to help us in connection with our races. This was seconded by Mr. Spencer and carried unanimously and not "without prejudice," as the report has it. C. J. Coixings, Commodore.
