JOSEPH HISLOP.
SEASON IN AUCKLAND. Considerable interest is being aroused in ~nd musical circles in the approach ing visit of Mr. .Joseph Hislop. the cele Krated tenor, who will give his first recital in the Town Hall on November 3. Mr. Hislop was born m Edinburgh, and after hearing several Continental singers, the public will be particule y interested in the recitals of a British tenor who has won world wide recognition. A reception is being arranged by the Auckland Society ol Musicians. Joseph Hislop justly holds one of ths most prominent places in the esteem of the public, for not only is he a brilliant operatic artist, but he is equally great on the concert platform. His first success was achieved in Stockholm, where-he is now engaged to sing nearly every year. With Melba, he sang at Covent Garden just after the war, &nd was acclaimed a second Caruso. Booking arrangements are advertised.
