MOTOR PROSECUTIONS.
EIGHTY DRIVERS FINED. WIDE VARIETY OF CHARGES. Prosecutions for breaches of traffic law'i were preferred against about 80 drivers of motor vehicles in the Police Court yesterday. The following, who left their cars unattended for a longer period than that allowed, were each fined 10s: B. G. McGinn, G. Ohms, W. H. Overtop E. A. Singer, P. R- Wingrove, A. Coe, E. A. Sly, M. Taylor, S. Russell, E. J.. Kritchmar, H. J. Bray, P. W. Peate, F. Appleton, M. M. Yerex, and R. J Bartle. Charged with dangerous driving is. M. August was fined £3 and S. Steele and A. C. Booth £2. A. S. Brown, L. J. Crosbie. G. Harris, S. Lamb, L. H. Nicholson, G. C. Julian, A. J. N. Parker, H. W Taylor, were each fined 20s. A. Glassey was ordered to pay £2 12s costs. On charges of being responsible for cars with insufficient lights the following were each fined 10s; A. P. Brett, E. R. Anderson, N. C Grant, R. Harding, L. H. Lampitt, W. T. Monteith, B. O'Hare, L. H. Sayers, J. Mortimer and W. White. Speeding in a car cost E. Moore 40s on each of two charges, while W. L. Ready and N. S. Stewart were each fined £l. Penalties of £1 were imposed on D. M. Jackson and E. Markey, charged with driving vHthout licences. S. M. August was similarly dealt with for driving without an endorsed certificate and licence. J. Bell, for failing to produce his licence, was fined 10s. C. Crichton was fined 10s for driving without a licence. For failing to notify change of ownership of a vehicle, F. J. W. Taylor was fined £1 and J. Williams was ordered to pay costs P. Ford was fined 6s for allowing a chimney to catch fire. Failure to obey officers' signals cost G. C. Julian, J. Cornwall, H. R. G. Miller and A. C. Thompson ehch 20s. For not signalling when turning to the right, A. Pearson and S. Marinovicb were each fined 20s.
• Charged with leaving a bus on an un authorised stand, D. Shannon and C. J. Stokes were each fined 20s.
There was no appearance of W. A. Lee and H P Duff, who were fined 10s each for pillion-riding. A fine of 40s was inflicted or T. Collins, who failed to appear in answer to a charge of not giving way to a driver on his right. A plea of guilty was entered by E. T. Sadgrove, who was fined 20s for cutting a corner. H. Hartley, charged with driving the wronp way in a one-way street, was fined 10s. On a charge of passing a stationary tramcar, M. Jones was fined 20s.
Using a lorry without having a heavy traffic licence cost A. R. Brown 20s. R. Burns, for operating a lorry on a classified road with a load heavier than it should have carried, was fined 40s, L. P. Wilkinson, charged with erecting a building without a permit, was fined 40s.
