REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Lucky Shot.—The winze on the footwall of No. 3 reef has been sunk 6ft. for the week, making a total distance of 35ft. The country rock looks well. As the reef here has turned into the hangingwall; too flat to follow with the winze, we intend to sink on our present course until reaching a depth of SO£t. This reef will be intersected by the crosscut going to the main reef. Tho drive on the main reef going north-east has been advanced Bft. for the week. The reef is 4ft. in width, and shows gold in the hangingwall portion. i Golden Age.—The drive going north-eaat has been advanced a distance of 6ft. ior tho week. The country encased in the reef has been much firmer, and the reef haa cow opened out to about 4ft. in width. It is carrying nice minerals and a fair amount of silica. Alburnia.—Driving on the dropper hillward has been extended to 10ft. out from the crosscut. This leader shows s width of about 12in., being slightly smaller than when first met with. Both the country and the quartz have a good appearance, some of Ihe stone carrying good mineral. Driving on the Sons of Freedom reef was also started a distance of 7ft. being driven on the seaward side of the crosscut. It is from this face that the blotches of gold were seen which were reported in Friday's telegram, V\ T e have yet approximately another 90ft. to go seaward to get under Badford's Patch. The reef is maintains its size, about 3ft., and is encased in a splendid class of country rack. There are several leaders showing on the hangingwall side of the reef, where w© propose to put in a fewshots for prospecting purposes. Moanataiari.—The drive hillward on tho reef from No. 1 winze has been driven down sft., a total of 64ft. The footwall portion of the reef driven on averages 4ft, wide and carries nice mineral, blend, silica and a little ruby silver. Thfj leader that came out of the lootwall is still running with tha i main reef, but underlaying the opposite way so that in the roof they junction, but the floors of the level are sft. apart. A few nice dabs and colours of gold were seen in this leader About 4ft. back from the face another leader 4in. wide is going off into the footwall. This leader carries mineral, blend, silica and ruby silver. Ths drive seaward on the reef from No. 1 winze has been driven 4ft.. a total of 52ft. The* hangingwall portion of the reef still averages 2ft. 6in wide and looks well. Colours of gold were seen in the ore. The leader that came out of the footwall the previous week and was running toward the main reef has turned away again into the footwall. and in the face the two branches are 7ft, apart. The leader on the footwall haa. 1 opened out to 12in. wide, and is a nice body of stone. Colours and dabs of gold i were seen in the ore. The drive seaward on , the Caledonia reef has been extended 7ft„ a total of 48ft. The reef here averages about 1 2ft. wide, but is still disturbed, making , patches of quartz which carries nice mineral ; and silica. Kuranui.—The drive on the small leader in the footwall of the main reef has been 1 advanced 15ft. for the week. The leader i has been somewhat small owing to the hard ► nature of the country,*but the Quartz, when broken, looks very promising for making gold.' Two men jvill start taking » leading stope along the back of the drive this week, as the leader seems to be making going up. New Waiotahi.—The drive hill-ward for tho waiotalu-Cambi-ia reef has been advanced ' Bft for the week, and the country continues to be hard, grey andesite. A strong head is _ crossing the face of the drive, which i misrht be u change on the other side. Mnoriland Consolidated.—The No. 4 east ! crosscut has been advanced 10ft., a total of 119 ft. The ground is becoming harder as the face is advanced and. during the , nast week has been very difficult to shoot. This must be expected before the reef is met with. r>
