AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE ACTIVE BUSINESS IN WAIHIS. Business opened quietly on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday after the holiday, and such activity as there %\as was largely in mining shares. The feature of the day was the large turn over of Waihis at advanced rates. Quotations for Government and local body securities covered a wide range. In banks Commercials of Australia were available at 28s, buyers 27s 10dNo business was recorded in either banking or insurance stock. In gas Auck lands changed hands at the current rate of 23s at the late call, the market closing witjii more available at 235, buyers 22s 9d. In shipping Huddart Parkers, which sold on Saturday at 465, again had sale at that price. Northern Steamships sold at 14s 3d as compared with 14s be] earlier in the month. In miscellaneous New Zealand Refrigerating, contributing, changed hands at noon at 7s 6d. The last sale took place a month ago at 6s 3d. Tonson Garlicks. which were done early in June at 14s bd, sold at 10s 6d, with further demand at that price. In mining Alburnias sold at 3s. at which price more were available. For Lucky Shots Is lCd was given, as compared with 2s 2d a week ago. Waihis sold at all three calls,'opening at 22s 6d and closing at 235, at which figure most of the business was done.
