PROGRESS AT WAIMAUKU.
BETTER TELEPHONE SERVICE [BV TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] "W AI MA UK U, Friday. In response to a request by the Waimauku Ratepayers and Residents' Association an extended telephone service, from 6 a.m. to midnight, has been granted and will commence on Monday. The present post pffice "as officially opened in March. 1924, and the present postmaster. Mr. L. T. Bucktoii, has been .in charge since that date. When the exchange was opened there were 59 subscribers, but by 1926 the number had increased to 100. A Sunday service has i>een coituse-need and the staff has been increased from two in 1924 to four at present. Electric light was installed in the office a month ago.
