MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS.

Sir, —Would you, through the medium of your paper, draw the attention of the ratepayer# of the Mount RoskiU district to the borrowing of £BB,OOO for concreting, which, in my opinion, should cot be done until the ratepayers know what they have to pay as rates under the new system unimproved value. Some ratepayers do not realise what this means to them and will get a rude shock when the time comes. The board also proposes to use the £SOOO (borrowed for a crusher) to build municipal offices. This I consider aii unwise act, as in all probability wo shall bo in the city area (that is, if they will have us) in the near future. If this should come, we would pet more permanent work done and our rates would probably be as at present. Join The Citt.
