Thursday A youth, Leslie Bugdeo, who had refused to take the oath of allegiance require.] under the Defence Act, came before the magistrate this morning. He refused to take the oath for religious reasons, but admitted in Court that no one had told him not to, and that his father advisod him to take it. When asked by the magistrate to take the oath, Bagden again refused, and ha was fined tho cxasißism fsenalty, £.5. The magistrate warned him that if he persisted and did not pay the fine be would be neat to gaol for 14 days.
