TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for. 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day, was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening: —Cloudy and unsettled weather is indicated. with ram following generally, heavy in northern and east coast districts. Easterly to north-easterly winds, freshen mg, and increasing strong to gale. Dae to the influence of the disturbance of com bined tropical and Antarctic influences, stormy weather is expected in districts northward of New Plymouth and Napier, Barometric pressure will decrease generally. Seas rough on east coast, particularly northward of Whangarei. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.30 in. Midnight, Wednesday .. 30.30 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows : —Pi eseni indications are for moderate westerly winds, veering to north-easterly and freshening northward of New Plymouth and Napier and moderate to strong westerlies to southerlies elsewhere; weather fair, but becoming cloudy and misty soon in many parts, when rain may be expected, espeei ally in the northern and eastern districts. The barometer is falling in the north and will rise soon in the south. RAINFALL RECORD.
