He ex pressed satisfaction at the successful year. th» net profit being £6435 12s _Pd for five meetings, an extra meeting being granted for the American fleet's visit. The balance the previous year <ya* £9551 18» Id. but a falling off in returns for last year was not unexpected, said Mr. Harcourt. Stakes paid amounted to £38.610. compared with fiS.WW the previous year, and taxes paid to Government amounted to £41,553 S» lid. The totalisator receipt* were £SS .893 1S« ?d. compared with £61.197 10s 7ci for 5926 The gate, and railway re eeipts were £15,900 5s 6d. a decrease of f"2G79 10s Id. and priviWea yielded £5300 7d. an increase of £2792 7s 7d.
