THE ROLL OF HONOUR. [FBOM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, Auir. 6. The roll of honour of the New Zealand Engineers has arrived and, pending the arrangement of the ceremony ol presenting it tn St. Paul's Cathedral, Is guarded in the Royal Engineers' Museum at Chatham. The roll of honour contains 408 names. The following description of the casket is engrossed at tht end of the roll:—"The casket containing this roll is. a Maori waka huia, or treasure-box. The sign on tin© hd represents the bird-headed figure, surrounding the Sun God, Tane Tera Nui, who guards the contents; the two recumbent figures with protruding tongues, signifying defiance. The heads at each end are typical of the old art heads used for handles of treasure chests. The waka huiji was carved by Tamate Waata (Thomas Heberly), Fetone, from one piece of New Zealand totara timber, which had been in use sine® 1862 as part, of ,the Queen's Wharf, Wellington." The ceremony of presenting the roll of honour in St. Paul's Cathedral has been postponed until October.
