DELIVERIES BY AIR.
CASE OF TYPEWRITERS. USE OF A PARACHUTE. [FROM our own correspondent.] NEW YORK, Aug. 22. Illustrating the new method of delivering parcels, a case of typewriters was dropped the otfcer day by parachute from an aeroplane. The machines landed lightly and were not damaged. They -were dropped from the Ford all-metal, threemt>tor aeroplane which is being used by the Royal Typewriter Company to make deliveries 911 over the United States. The new flying truck, as it is called, will carry a shipping clerk, or supercargo, to hurl thd£ typewriters out when necessary. It started with its first load from Hartford, Conn., for Cuba, dropping supplies on the way. The "truck' cost £7OOO.
