OTAGO-AUCKLAND FIXTURE. PROMINENT VISITING PLAYERS. THE EIGHTEENTH CONTEST. Tiie Auckland Rugby representatives will play thei<- ninth fixture of the season against Otago at Eden Park to-day. Although the visitors have met with varying success this year, their fine display against the unbeaten Wellington team last Saturday indicates they are capable of tine, solid play. Among the visitors, Webb and Stewart, threequartcrs, possess exceptional speed. Stewart is imported to be playing fine football this season. Holden, halfback, came into prominence a couple of seasons ago. He is a clever player and is sure to be chosen in the All Black trial matches. Peterson, five-eighths, is a brilliant attacking player, and scored two fine tries against Wellington and Bush. Marslin and Dougherty, back-rankers, are country representatives. Sonntag, the Otago captain, is well known in Kugby circles throughout the , Dominion. Righton, A. Knight, W. Batty, I. (Jathcarfc. The Auckland team differs slightly from that Which defeated Wairarapa last Saturday. R. Sheen is suffering from a poisoned leg and Moyer replaces him in the five-eighths line. McWiiliams is being rested and L. Righton replaces him on the side of the scrum. Righton has not played for several weeks, although he has been training with the representative team. Since 1875, 17 matches have been played between Otago and Auckland.
