VOLCANIC ACTIVITY.

THE TONGARIRO ERUPTION. KETATAHI BLOV/HOLE ACTIVE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NATIONAL PARK, Friday. The recent eruption on Tongariro was clearly seen from Otuku. The natives do not. remember seeing an eruption in the vicinity before. Te IMari, which is clearly seen from Otuku, was comparatively quiet, and the residents and natives were agreed that the activity was on the summit of the northern peak. It is thought it may have been a renewed activity either of the northern crater or the blue lake. Land rumblings have been heard recently at Otuku and the Ketatahi blowhole has been unusually active, becoming an intermittent geyser and sending up huge columns of water which may bo seen from Otuku. Soino of the natives have expressed fear and consider 4 it is too dangerous to bathe in the pool in the vicinity of Ketatahi.
