ART EXHIBITIONS.
A PERMANENT HOME. Auckland is shortly to have a permanent room set apart exclusively for art exhibitions. This will be in the room at the Public Art Gallery which has hitherto held the Russell collection of statuary. The room has already been emptied of its exhibits, which have been withdraws by the Auckland Museum authorities some to be placed in the museum an' some in the School of Art. The 1001. which measures 36ft. by 23ft., ivill ha. an entrance direct from the street ar will be lit by electricity so that it rr be available for exhibitions at n:fi The first exhibition to be he'd u:-.' the new conditions will probably i>e 01; of Japanese prints to be opened tie:*: month. It is hoped that in course ">* time the gallery will be in demand foart exhibitions throughout the part of the year.
