BIRKENHEAD STAYS OUT. A letter from Mr. E. Aldridgei chairman of the Marine Boroughs' Association, forwarding the draft agreement between Devonport. Takapuna and Nnrthcotfe, in regard- to the combined North Shore refuse destructor, was read at the meeting of the Birkenhead-Borough Council last evening Mr. Aldridge said he would be glad if the council would advise him whether Birkenhead intended to become a party to the scheme, in which case the agreement would be altered to include the four boroughs. On the motion of the Mayor, Mr. E. G. Skeates, the letter was received. The secretary to the association is to be informed that the council does not intend to come into the scheme for the time being.
