PREJUDICE OF THE PUBLIC. [BY .TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday The public prejudice against Dominionmade goods is referred to in the report of Hie Department of Industries and Commerce, presented in Parliament to-day. To such an extent is this the case, says the report, that in a number of instances manufacturers are forced to brand their goods in such a manner as to conceal the fact that they aro New Zealandmade. In som" cases retailers demand price concessions from manufacturers on the ground that they must have a higher selling margin on local than on imported goods. On some lines manufacturers are feeling keenly the free competition of imported goods of relatively low quality,.
