ALONE WITH MADMAN.
WOMEN IN A TRAIN.
MAN TRIES TO JUMP OUT
Two Bathurst women recently had an exciting experience in a railway carriage with a madman while travelling from Sydney. Boarding the train at Sydney the man appeared to bo normal, but before Penrith was reached he began to act queerly. After leaving Penrith - the man clearly showed that he was demented. He first threatened the women with violence and then made attempts to jump out of the window. Although badly frightened, the women fought desperately with him and stopped hirn from carrying out his intention. At Mount Victoria he made another effort to dive through the window on to the platform. Again the women saved him. He vrtis then handed over to the railway authorities, who gave him into the charge of the police. It -is stated that the man had -only just-been released from a mental hospital.
