RUSSIA AND ARABIA.

BID MADE FOR TRADE.

REGULAR STEAMER SERVICE.

(Received September 2, 5.5 p.m.) Times. LONDON, Sept. 1. According to the Riga correspondent of the Times, a Russian commercial expedition recently visited Arabia under the leadership of Bialkin. As a sequel the Soviet is now establishing a regular steamer service between Odessa and Arabia. Bialkin, whose errand was also a political one, reported that sugar, flour, soap, petroleum, potatoes, barley and crockery would find markets in the Hedjaz, at Yemen, Nejd and other centres, in exchange for coffee and gum arabic. The newspaper Izvestia says it is essential to thwart British Imperialism in Arabia.
