SOVIET SPY ARRESTS.
ALLEGATIONS OF CONSPIRACY
FOREIGN AGENTS CHARGED
(Received September 2, 6.25 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Times. LONDON, Sept. 1. The Riga correspondent of the Times savs that after a chase which lasted sixdays, Sergei, a son of Colonel Solovieff, was shot. There were charges against him of conspiring to secure a state of terrorism by attempts at the assassination of officials, by causing an explosion in the Leningrad power station, and of poisoning people in restaurants, with the assistance of the Finnish and Latvian authorities. The Moscow secret police say they have arrested two groups of Lithuanian and Finnish spies, who, it is alleged, were concerned with Sergei in the attempt to dynamite the power station and to poison Government officials at a banquet. Two of the arrested men, who were accused of throwing bombs into a Soviet club at Leningrad in June,' have pleaded guilty.
