There is a quiet period ut Addiugtou at present. Most of tho trainers are civiriii their horsed a short spell prior to getting them ready for the Cuu Meeting. A large Jiumbgr ot young pacers and trotters are being broken in and educated. W. J Morlaud has sold his pacer Countryman. The last but erratic horse has been held on lease for some time by Messrs. Clarkaun and Graham, for whom lie won several good races. His new owner is a North Canterbury resident. The trotter .Reverie is in steady work again. The half-brother by Peter -Moko to N upland line not been hurried in his education and training, and he should be racing this season. W. J. Tomkiuson has finished with the trotter Bridget Galindo, and she has been returned to her owners. That fine trotter Hlzear, who has been enjoying a spell, has joined Tomkinson's active brigade, and will be got ready for the big meeting in November, Sarilla has not been raced for some lime, but her owner-trainer is now busy on this useful pacer, who usually does not take long to get into her best form. A sister to Michael Galindo and Bridget Galindo is in work at Addington under the charge of C. Tasker. *She goes at the trotting gait. The pacer Billy Sea changed owners this week and he has gone into J. N. Clarke's stable at New Brighton. NOTES BY PICADOR. The annual general meeting of members o' the Auckland Trotting Club is to be held to-morrow (Thursday) at 3 o'clock p.m. The Ellerslie trainer J. Shaw returned home from Christchurch yesterday with Jewel Pointer and Amaris. who raced successfully at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's August Meeting last week. Nelson Fame was also brought back to Auckland yesterday, but S. August's other charge, Doctor Dillon, was left at Addmgton.
G. Phipps has added to his team a three-year-old gelding by Roy de Oro from Beguest, dam of Arran Chief. The same trainer lias also taken Dick Dillon and Black Lila in from the paddock and will get them ready for the coming meetings in this province.
