ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

NIGHT GAMES SUGGESTED.

TWO PLAYERS SUSPENDED. APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFERS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Football Association met last evening. Mr. A. Menzies presiding. Mr. S. Drew, tramways representative, asked if it were possible to commence the mid-week competitions earlier noxt season. Tho chairman said the committee had considered a proposition for lighting Blandford Park and playing night matches next year. The idea had proved successful in Australia and the committee was in touch with representatives there. Providing the outlay was not too expensive, it was proable night matches will be played in \iickland next season.

Mr. Drew also suggested that the Auckland Association should play a special match, the proceeds to be devoted to the expenses of the Auckland travelling team. Tho chairman said the suggestion would be considered, but he did not think it possiblo to devote a date for the match, as the season's programme could not be completed now. The cases of Humphries, X.M.C.A., and Cotton, Onehunga, who were ordered ofi the field in a senior match last Saturday week, were dealt with. After hearing evidence it was decided to suspend Humphries until August 29 and Cotton for one playing oaturd ly No action was taken in regard to a linesman who was also reported by tho referee.

An application from tho Kiwi Club to transfer S. Rowatt and W. Rodwell from second grade to third grade was granted, nroviding these players played only in club competitions and not in knock-out contests. .\orth Shore Club was granted permission to transfer H. Smith and B. Moore from senior to second grade. G. Malcolm, > -VI.C.A.. was transferred from third open to third intermediate gTade for club games only.
