PRESENTATIONS.
A farewell social was tendered in the Garrison Hall, Paparoa, to Mr. M. Peat, who. after being in charge of the Paparoa branch of the National Bank, of New Zea land for 85 years, is leaving to take charge of the Hastings branch of tire bank. There was a large nncl representative attendance. Mr. T. Wilson, on behalf of the subscribers, presented Mr. Peat with an oak cabinet of table cutlery and a cabinet of fish cutlery. On behalf of residents he expressed sincere regret at Mr. Peat's departure and congratulated him on his promotion. A tribute was paid to Mr. Peat's courtesy and efficiency. Mr. D. Fergus, president of the Otamatea Sheep Dog Trial Club, on behalf of the club, presented the guest with a crystal decanter and set of glasses. During Mr. Peat's term branches of the bank at Ruavvai and Waipu were opened, and together with Paparoa and Maungaturoto, wore under his supervision. Mr. C. H. Rout has been promoted from the position of accountant at Wanganui to supervise the Paparoa and Ruawai branches, Mr. Lindsay having charge of Maungaturoto and Waipu.
