WILD FLOWER DECORATIONS.
Remember when wild flowers arc out that tlio most charming effects in tablo decoration can be obtained —so much so that those who have never tried them in water would never believe how ornamental they can be when tastefully arranged.
In gathering wild (lowers there are one or two things to remember if satisfactory results are to be obtained. Whenever possible, the blooms should be picked just before they aro fully out, or in somo cases when in bud. They should bo picked, too, cither in the early morning or in the evening—at any rate, not when the sun is full upon them. And when one gets them homo they should be plunged to the full length of the stalks in a deep vessel—the water jug is ns good as anything—and left there until they have ceased to (lag and are Quite stiff and happy. Almost all the taller species of wild (lowers —foxgloves, scabious, chicory, wild parsley, and many others that are quite common —live well in water anc make a bold display, but there are many dwarf varieties which look equally well in small vases on the table.
