HIGHEST-SALARIED WOMAN. Mrs. Blanche Green, who claims to be the highest-salaried business -woman in the world, earning £20,000 a year as vice-president and sales manageress o! a great corset manufacturing firm, reached England on a visit from America recently. She had made the visit to investigate the sales of her firm in England, but intended to stay only three weeks. Fifteen years ago Airs. Green, a »y° un S wife and mother, was thrown on her own resources by an accident which crippled her husband for life. She got a job as a sales agent for corsets, and at the end of the first year had broken all sales records. ~ Speaking of the opportunities of girls in business, Mrs. Green said:— The opportunities to-day are greater than eve before for women, and the modern gi is able to earn as much money, as tJie modern man. Mv business career has not meant me giving up my home l.te altogether. A housekeeper looks after my house, and my salary provides m> husband with every luxury. Sometimes it is three months before I get home, but on other occasions only a lew da\s elapse." •
