APPEAL BEING MADE FOR FUNDS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Thursday. The Thames Peace Memorial Committee is appealing for £IOO to complete the installation of an apparatus to light the Thames war memorial at night for all time on the lines of the Scott memorial at Christchurch. Four sacrificial urns are being placed in position at the base at a cost of £l3O and will contain reflectors and other flood-lighting gear, for which £IOO is wanted. The monument, which cost £2OOO, was illuminated during the diamond jubilee celebrations and was visible for many miles out at sea and as far as Patetonga, on the Hauraki Plains.
