CHARGE DISMISSED.

ALLEGATION OF FRAUD. A charge of obtaining credit for 30s from John Edgar Wado by fraud was denied in the Police Court yesterday by Henry Charles Evans (Mr. Dickson). Accused elected to bo tried in the Supreme Court. Evidence was given that accused obtained a dresser and a meat safe from Wado's shop and stated he would return later in the day and pay for them, but failed to do so. He had' previously had dealings with Wade and had been permitted to take goods on approval. The 30s had now been paid. Mr. Dickson said the amount in dispute was merely a civil debt and no jury would convict accused. The magistrate. Mr. Cutten. dismissed the case.
