CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FAILS. The bearing of a claim for £4lO damages by Emma Sowden, widow (Mr ITogg), against George Isaac Burnnand, engineer (Mr. Holmden), was concluded in the Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr. Justice Herdman. The whole day was occupied in hearing evidence concerning the circumstances of the accident in which - lain)iff was knocked down by a motor-car driven by defendant whiles crossing Mount Eden Road to board a tramcar at Point Street stop. After a short retirement the jury returned a verdict for defendant with costs.
