WAR DISABILITIES.
APPLICANTS FOR HELP. INCREASE AT WANGANUL[Bt TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI, Friday. Although nine years have elapsed since the war ended, demands on the funds of the Wanganui-Waitotara Patriotic Association show no signs of decreasing. Qpthe other hand increases are recorded, owing to the fact tint "many- cases of what were a few years ago considered to be temporary ailments have now developed into chronic troubles. Forty-eight applications from returned soldiers or their dependants were dealt with at the monthly meeting of the association, the majority of the cases being in respect to wonnds or lung troubles, the resultant effect of . poison gas distributed by the. Germans. Other cases were those of straggling soldiers OP wayback holdings. . A Tetter in appreciation of the work of the association has just been received from the secretary of the British.
