SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS.

A reception was given by the Society of Musicians at 'the Lyceum Club on Friday evening to welcome Mr. Ignaz Friedman, the distinguished pianist. The rooms were charmingly decorated with bowls of pink camellias and spring flowers. The president, Mr. Barry Coney, with the executive, received the guest of honour and expressed for the members a very cordial welcome to the visitor, i Mr. Friedman, who was accompanied by Mr. Scott Colville and Mr. Mcßae, gave an interesting little talk on the celebration in Vienna of the Beethoven Centenary, which, he said, was an international musical gathering. He had met there distinguished musicians from all over the world and a very fine programme had been contributed. The remainder of the evening was passed pleasantly in social intercourse, and Miss Youd _ contributed songs, which were much enjoyed.
