OBITUARY.

MR. HENRY WHITE. (Received July 16, 5 ft p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Ban. WASHINGTON, July 15. The death has occurred at Pittsfield, Massachusetts, of Mr. Henry White, a former American Ambassador at Paris and Rome, and a delegate to tho Peace Conference in 1919, aged 77. Mr. Henry White was born in Baltimore in 1850. He entered the Diplomatic Service, and in 1883 was Secretary of tho Legation at Vienna. From 1884 to 1893 he was at the London Embassy, and after a short interval in the States he returned to London as Secretary to the Embassy, from 1897 to 1905. He was in 1905 appointed Ambassador at Rome and later was Ambassador in Paris. On various occasions he represented the United States at important international conferences, as at the Algeciras Conference m 1906. regarding affairs in Morocco. He was a member of tho American delegation to the Peace Conference at Versailles after tho war..
