CONCERN AT WANGANUI. BOUNTY FOR DESTRUCTION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI, Sunday. The wild pig nuisance is said to be serious in the back country and farmers are alarmed in view of the near approach of the lambing season. Last year heavy, toll was taken of lambs, and an experiment was mado of laying poison. A Maori who knew the country well laid down a large quantity of poison over certain ' holdings, but the experiment proved unsuccessful. A letter has been received from Mr. W. A. Veitch, M.P., to the effect, that the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. 0. JHawken, had agreed to the payment o a shilling a snout for every wild pig killed and it is expected that firing parties will bo organised to make a clearance of some of the hogs before to» lambing season commences.,
